NBA 2K27 Season 2 started Friday, October 16, 2026, with a shared Level 1-40 reward track powered by XP from The City, MyCAREER, and MyTEAM. For MyTEAM planning, NBA 2K27 MT is separate from seasonal XP, which still comes from activity in those modes.
Season 2 dates and live events
Season 2 began on October 16, but there is no single published hour for every season change or event. As of October 22, The Long Night is active; check The City > Events for its schedule and activity requirements before joining.

Update 2.0 arrived on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 8. The PC and Nintendo Switch 2 update was scheduled shortly before Season 2 began, so install any available update if the new reward track is missing.
After updating, return to the main menu and reopen the season screen. The Season 2 track should appear there; if it does not, check for another available update before spending time on season activities.
Earn XP and claim rewards efficiently
The shared reward track advances through activity in The City, MyCAREER, and MyTEAM. Pick a mode you can play consistently instead of switching modes to chase an event whose schedule or requirements you have not checked.
Install any available game update, return to the main menu, and open the season screen again.
Enter The City and open Season Rewards to confirm the Season 2 track is active.
Play City, MyCAREER, or MyTEAM activity to earn XP toward the shared track.
Reopen Season Rewards after gaining levels and collect the unlocked items shown there. Confirm each item is no longer available to claim.
If you have a squad, play Crew Divisions during the launch-period boost for Double Crew XP and a 25% REP boost.
Before joining a limited-time activity, check The City > Events for its current schedule and requirements.
The free MyCAREER track has a 4-Person Golf Cart at Level 18, the Boomer mascot at Level 20, and a +1 Cap Breaker at Level 40. Season rewards are time-limited: Season Pass progress and season rewards reset when Season 2 ends, so claim unlocked items before the reset.
For MyTEAM, the track starts with Diamond Jason Kidd at Level 1 and reaches Pixel Cut Karl-Anthony Towns at Level 40. Pixel Cut Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is also available through the Premier Exchange. The Pro Pass and Hall of Fame Pass have separate premium rewards; the Hall of Fame option includes Pro Pass rewards, skips 10 levels, and gives a 15% season XP boost. Review the in-game track before purchasing to see what each option includes.
GOAT Builds and other targets
Eight GOAT Builds are available through the GOAT Builds path: Penny Hardaway and Gilbert Arenas at point guard, Klay Thompson at shooting guard, Carmelo Anthony, Andrei Kirilenko, and Kawhi Leonard at small forward, Anthony Davis at power forward, and Dwight Howard at center. Season 2 adds Magic Johnson at Level 26, Dirk Nowitzki at Level 33, and Young Kobe at Level 37.
Other GOAT Builds have separate requirements: Ray Allen and Hakeem Olajuwon require REP Elite V; Derrick Rose and Michael Jordan require REP Elite VIII; LeBron James requires REP Legend I. Anthony Edwards unlocks after 300 Lifetime Challenges, and Wilt Chamberlain after 350.
These templates exceed the usual Builder physical and attribute caps. Their signature animations and player attributes are fixed, while Badges, Cap Breakers, and Takeovers remain customizable. Check the in-game requirements and template details before committing resources, and choose a build that fills a role your lineup needs.
